Public Works

The City of Gregory Public Works Department is responsible for maintenance and operation of the street, park, airport, water and sewer departments. The department is staffed by three full-time employees consisting of the Public Works/Water Supt., Water Superintendent and one street dept. employee. Additionally, seasonal employees are hired for the summer months to maintain the city parks.
Over 17 miles of streets are maintained, which include snow removal, street resealing and pothole repair. The city has over 15 miles of water mains and storage capacity of over 900,000 gallons of water, with roughly 7.3 million gallons pumped each year. The public works department also maintains the city parks, ball fields and the city's twin swimming pools.
The City of Gregory also operates a tree dump site located 1.5 miles south of Gregory and is currently open seven days a week. Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The site is monitored for illegal dumping of materials.

It is essential that we have your cooperation by not disposing of cigarette butts, paper towels, disposable diapers, sanitary hygiene products, grease, paint, varnish, plastics, cat litter, coffee grounds, rags, or any material of a nondecomposable or toxic nature into the sewer system. The sewer system is not a receptacle for trash.
