Parks & Recreation
Many improvements and hard work by the city, park commitee and Gregory's Community Sunshine Club, have been put into the city park, Pheasant Park, and the Main Street Park. The city park has grown to include many wonderful additions that include a gazebo, east of the ball diamond, flower beds, concrete picnic tables and benches and an American Legion Memorial. The city park also sports horse-shoe pits, playground equipment, tennis courts, twin swimming pools with a slide and a ball diamond, with a recently grassed infield.
Gregory Buttes Observation Park was developed to overlook the City of Gregory. A platform and dedication wall, with a flag, were constructed to take in a breathtaking view of the Gregory City Park. The wall houses a memorial plaque for all families and individuals who donated to the project. In addition, the Yucca Trail was improved and walking trails were constructed around the entire city park, along with exercise stations installed along the paths. The City of Gregory thanks the Observation Park Committee, area and former area residents who gave donations, former Governor Janklow, and to all who volunteered their time and services to complete this unique project.
