If I plan to do any digging, whom do I call to get utilities located?

Before conducting any excavation, it is essential to identify the locations of underground utilities to ensure safety and compliance with state regulations. In South Dakota, you can achieve this by contacting South Dakota 811. This service notifies all affected utility companies, which will then mark the underground utility lines at no cost to you.

To request utility line locations:
  • Phone: Dial 811 or (800) 781-7474 (for out-of-state calls).
  • Website: Visit sdonecall.com to submit a request online.

Please note that locate requests should be made at least 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) before starting your excavation. This lead time allows utility companies sufficient time to mark their lines.

The Gregory City Tree Dump is located 1.5 miles south of Gregory and is open seven days a week. The site is monitored to prevent unauthorized or illegal dumping. For more information, please contact City Hall at (605) 835-8270.
